CHALLENGE

MeetingPlay recognized the growing demand for virtual meetings and events due to the Covid-19 pandemic and wanted to launch a striking new visual identity to support its expansion. To achieve this, we were tasked with completing the UX/UI redesign project within a tight 3-month timeline, which required us to implement highly efficient and streamlined working processes. Additionally, the challenge involved creating a brand-new website with innovative, updated features, further intensifying the complexity of the project. MeetingPlay's goal was to excel in the virtual, in-person, and hybrid events space, delivering exceptional experiences to clients and attendees while introducing features that had not previously existed."

APPROACH

Handling a project like MeetingPlay's rebrand, brand identity, and new website design with the added complexity of incorporating new features within a tight timeline would require a strategic and methodical design approach. A multifaceted approach that balances design, technology, and project management is crucial for the success of this complex endeavor. Flexibility, adaptability, and a keen focus on the user experience should be central to our design process. We needed to be strategic and agile.

LET’S REWARD OUR CLIENTS WITH A BRAND OVERHAUL

The rebrand demanded the embodiment of luxury, elevation, and innovation, strategically mirroring their state-of-the-art product offerings and unequivocally distinguishing them from competitors.

Throughout the iterative process, feedback sessions were integral in fine-tuning the design, ultimately leading to a more contemporary approach that maintained the elevated tech-chic essence with the inclusion of the iconic play button. The introduction of a purple gradient injected vibrancy, creating a distinct technological ambiance.

The selection of the right font was of paramount importance, as it had to authentically represent MP's brand identity and personality. After meticulous consideration and exploration, Maison Neue Grotesque emerged as the ideal choice to harmonize with MP's tech-forward mission. Maison Neue achieved a balance of modernity and technological advancement, while remaining highly legible, particularly in its lighter weights.

ELEVATING THEIR BRAND THROUGH CONSISTENCY

As the visual designer leading the rebranding effort, my role encompassed the development of comprehensive brand guidelines aimed at encapsulating the fresh tone, MP's foundational principles, font styles, photography standards, and the color palette. My primary objective was to ensure brand consistency across all platforms and mediums, propelling the brand's evolution.

To facilitate the practical application of the new brand, I crafted detailed mock-ups that MP's internal teams could seamlessly build upon, backed by comprehensive documentation. This approach provided the necessary guidance while leaving room for creative inspiration, allowing MP's brand to adapt and flourish.

In addition, I created an abstract duo-tone icon family, each icon artfully representing a distinct product offering. These icons were meticulously designed to evoke a sense of elevation and technological advancement while retaining the clarity needed for viewers to readily identify their respective meanings.

WE REINVENTED THE LOOK FOR VIRTUAL EVENTS

Acknowledging the pivotal role of user engagement in platform access, our mission was to place the platform's key features front and center. This spotlighted the holistic experience, encompassing post-event, pre-event, various event types, and the platform's capacity to enrich a company's culture and community.

In our endeavor, we successfully integrated a diverse set of features, including chat functionality, attendee connections, gaming elements, and the dynamic smart feed. These additions aimed to accentuate the platform's commitment to community and personalization, delivering a tailored user experience. Furthermore, we introduced an intuitive wayfinding pop-over, facilitating seamless navigation through MP's array of solutions.

Given the paramount importance of digital data security, we dedicated a page to highlight MP's unwavering commitment to security, emphasizing their best practices in safeguarding user information. This approach reinforced trust and confidence among users sharing their digital data.

In response to the escalating demand for virtual events in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and the recognition of MeetingPlay's underperforming website, the new brand book emerged as a pivotal transformative resource. Through the artful use of gradients and iconography, it allowed me to capture the very essence of luxury and innovation, crafting a narrative that unfolded through visually engaging illustrations of product features. This approach vividly showcased the extensive array of valuable products and offerings within MP's new platform.

Furthermore, I leveraged scrolling animations and micro interactions as storytelling elements, seamlessly enhancing the overall user experience and contributing to the immersive narrative. These interactive elements served to further elevate MP's brand and engagement with its audience. Each interactive component also translated into mobile making this visually engaging across devices.

  • This was an expert and professional team that brought our rebranding ideas to life. Everyone was blown away with what they produced — the absence of negative feedback from our partners and our internal staff was our main success metric for their team’s work.

    We launched the website in June 2022 and quickly received impressive boosts in leads and our social media engagement. We were victorious in reintroducing our brand as a lucrative platform of sophistication, and this resulted in great investment deals and demo requests from multiple companies. Had it not been for their team’s efforts, we wouldn’t be able to market our business as an important service provider in the luxury sector.
